We are very aware of the importance of Government pathways to efficient Renewable Energy development including tax efficiency steps, grants allowances and awards
Preamble
Contrary to popular belief the Government does support green issues and energy efficiency, today in 2024, with the offer of a variety of grants which are delivered through a filigree of delivery partners some statutory, some private. At Low Carbon Projects we have spent the time to unearth many of these.
For Instance
A steel fabricating company in the west of England which uses substantial electricity, here we have arranged to install a 110 kw Solar PV system with a payback period estimated at 7.0 years. However, with the help of a 50% capital grant and the use of part of the company's annual investment allowance of 18% ( of the part of the installation not benefiting from the grant) the payback period falls to only 2 years 10.5 months. This example is a contemporary transaction happening today ( January 2024)
Oh yes, there are challenges to face set by the rules of the grant application and managed by the delivery organisations (understandable as we are dealing with public money) however nothing that I have found to be unreasonable, anyway let us help you get through those hoops. That's our job!

We are an independent, small team of dedicated and highly professional consultants, engineers, designers, electrical contractors and installers who have gathered together to facilitate cost effective engineering solutions using an unusual approach. We operate in the Midlands to the South of England. We will provide the complete answer to design and installation of any project but we will assist you wherever possible in your application for the assistance of government grants.
So if you are a frozen food distributor concerned about the explosion of your energy cost, or if you are a manufacturer or farm shop concerned about the energy performance of your company premises then we are the people that can help. Despite popular belief the UK government does provide, in large numbers, financial support to SME's, if you are prepared to search for them. We have already done that.
It has been our task to be as aware as we can be of the whereabouts of the myriad of grants and to assist commercial enterprises such as yours to successfully apply for them.
what we do
We will take your proposed project from start to a successful finish at a net cost that will pleasantly surprise you.
The work, either of installation, modification or repair will be contracted through engineering/installation contractors who will deal directly with yourself and all will carry the requisite qualifications and certification, either from RECC or MCS, please ask for more details.
We assist your company in its application for grant aid for any work listed below, if they are available. Grants are available for many projects throughout much of the country. These grants will substantially reduce the installation/repair costs of the following;
Solar PV
and all other renewable energy technology including ground source heating and air source heating
energy storage,
Insulation
energy management, energy efficiency equipment that leads to process improvements
Lighting
(including LED lighting)
compressors
refrigeration
including solar collectors to reduce compressor use and replace old and inefficient refrigerators
waste
and water reduction and recycling
Heaters
and boilers
Heat recovery
and exchange
Even fast-shutting doors
if damaged can attract a grant if it is shown to be responsible for heat loss
Biomas
Biogas
The areas of interest to the grant providers includes,
1/ most things which are low carbon and
2/ most alterations/improvements that can be demonstrated as enhancing the existing energy efficiency of your business.
As you might imagine there are certain minimum parameters that the the delivery partner wish to see to evidence that the grant money is being spent wisely but again we can help in that regard, and we have not found that to be an insurmountable hurdle so far.
We will assist your company in its due diligence in dealing with the grant authorities. We will also help you make contact with the installers and engineers which we have selected as partners of first choice
